Same-day/Spur of the Moment Activities Group

This group will be for people who often find themselves looking for something to do on a given day or evening with others, and are looking for other, like-minded, people, without plans, who are up for doing something on the spur of the moment -- such as having dinner, checking out a movie, hiking, or what ever-that same day or evening. So, if you are someone who often finds themselves on a Saturday night wanting to hang out with people, but not having anyone to get together with, this may be the group for you.

Note, this group site is a concept. The intention was to give people a place to do what's in the above paragraph. There's no leader setting up events.

The way I post on this site is something like the following: "I'm going to shoot some baskets this afternoon at ______________ [define place] at ________ [define time], and am looking for someone(s) to play with. Looking for intermediate player(s) [define the type of companions you're looking for in a polite and respectful way]. Please post below or email me [or call me on my cell-if comfortable giving out cell #] if interested in joining me.

Note2/Disclaimer: I don't regulate the postings or events people post on this group site, so its up to you to use your own discretion in attending posted activites. The intention is that people post things adhering to the group purpose above. Also, the intention is that no one posts anything with the purpose of making money/their own commercial gain. All posts and events must adhere to Going guidelines.

We're playing down at Precinct, a new bar in Union Square in Somerville that's already being recognized as one of the best small venues in Boston! We're psyched for this one - both because of the VENUE and because there's gonna be a few record label reps in the house! We're gonna be playing one hell of a show, and we need your help to show these guys what The Few is all about - YOU!

For those interested: this summer there was a weekly swing dance Wednesday evenings on the wharf behind Boston Harbor Hotel (downtown next to Rowes Wharf). I never actually went, but I walked by it once and it looked like a wicked cool event - the band was on a barge(!) in the harbor, and the dancing is right behind the hotel -beautiful hotel. Today is the last dance of the summer, and I'm thinking of checking it out. I don't have the time today to make this a "Going event", but any/all who'd like to meet up with me there tonight, contact me on my cell 617-710-1634. If you want to go, and if you feel so inclined, reply to the thread so others will see that, and maybe, on the spur of the moment (ha ha), we can get a group together to go.
